Fredone Fone was born and raised in one of Brazil’s many suburbs. The’re a self-taught artist that started an early career as a builder assisting their father, for ten years. This experience served as inspiration for their artistic work, that is based on simple geometric shapes and abstract compositions.
Their abstract compositions are intuitively influenced by their experiences while they worked as a helper mason with their father. Their observation from the public space, especially the architecture made of improvised way and with few financial resources, very present in the slums and suburbs of Brazil shows them different ways to looking at cities and their inhabitants, who also built those cities.
