A boy is chained to a comet, biding his time until he collides with Earth.
It isn’t long before he falls in love. The blue-green sphere is nothing like the other planets he has seen. Even from afar, it pulses with life.
The boy could go mad waiting for their mutual devastation. He doesn’t want to destroy something so beautiful. He doesn’t want to lose himself, either. How cruel that their fates should be intertwined since stardust had coalesced into flesh and bone.
As the planet draws closer, he weeps for its loveliness, and his longing to be near.
